The kind of shoot you can’t go wrong with. And I’m not saying that just because photographing beautiful models for a calendar is nice, but mainly because this time it felt like a small road trip.
The three of us headed out for the calendar shoot: photographer Richard Nowak, me as an assistant and backstage photographer, and Přemek Fejfar as assistant — all in a camper van.
A perfect solution not only for summer shoots: great facilities for refreshments, makeup, and rest.
After the first day, we stayed overnight at a campsite in Prague. That’s a story on its own, because sleeping in a camper with three guys isn’t exactly ideal — every movement in bed woke the others up.
On the second day, we found out that the shoot was cancelled due to the model’s illness. We didn’t want to waste the time, so on the way home we stopped at a few quarries in South Bohemia, went for a swim, relaxed a bit, had a beer… just an easygoing stop and that kind of simple loafing around we’re actually pretty good at.
